Sex-trafficking awareness walk set for Saturday in Joliet

The Love Outreach Training and Development Center will hold its 2nd annual “Walk For Love” Saturday to raise awareness about human trafficking.

Esther Holiday, pastor at House of Glory for all Nations Church in Morris, founded the center and trains law enforcement agencies, schools, hospitals and churches about human trafficking.

“With sex trafficking on the rise not just in the big cities and foreign countries, it’s also growing in our smaller towns,” she said in a letter advertising the event. “We’re asking for your involvement so that we can make a big impact on that day so people can become aware of the danger of sex trafficking.”

Participants will walk about two miles from the Louis Joliet Mall to the First Assembly of God Church on Essington Road. Presenters will discuss human trafficking at the church. Joliet police officers will assist with safety during the event, according to Holiday’s letter.

Anyone with questions can call Holiday at 815-651-8564 or email her at loveoutreachtc@yahoo.com.
