Waltham School contruction is all but finished — only a limited number of “punch-list” items remains — but visitors will see plenty of work on the grounds.
Waltham superintendent Kristi Eager reported Wednesday that trees will be planted this fall and a maintenance shed will be constructed. Waltham’s new school is otherwise finished; Eager said the student body (199 as of Wednesday) is comfortably situated in the new building with only a smattering of unfinished tasks.
Also, the board finalized a budget that leaves the district with robust reserves.
Eager projected the district’s piggy bank will remain full when the eighth-graders graduate, with anticipated reserves of about $4.7 million.
The board next meets Oct. 16.
