Gary Norman Kessel

OREGON – Gary Norman Kessel, 72, of Oregon, passed away on October 5, 2019.

Gary was born on February 21, 1947, to Donald and Bernadine (Bauer) Kessel in Amboy. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ashton. He was a farmer on the family farm and also loved and enjoyed being around his two grandchildren.

Gary is survived by one daughter, Lindsay (Paul) Drew of Oregon; two grandchildren, Keaton and Autumn; one brother, Dennis Kessel of Barrington; and one sister, Vickie (Steven) Carlson of Rockford.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lane Kessel; and one sister, Angela Page.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 803 Paddock Ave. Ashton, IL 61006.

Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jessica Bakken officiating. Graveside service will follow at Restland Cemetery in Mendota.

Funeral services entrusted to Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home.
