New restaurant opens in Campton Hills

CAMPTON HILLS – The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting for Chime and Stave, a new restaurant in Campton Hills.

The ribbon-cutting will take place at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at Chime and Stave, 40W188 Campton Crossings Drive in the Campton Crossing shopping center.

Chime and Stave Kitchen and Bar is a neighborhood craft cocktail and dining destination. American-inspired artisan meals made with farm-to-table ingredients are on the menu. Patrons also can enjoy craft beer and cocktails in a rustic atmosphere.

A chime is the beveled edge at the top – and bottom – of a barrel. It is made up of the ends of all the staves coming together. The staves are the heart of the barrel.

Created from oak that must be straight, knot-free and properly aged, they are shaped and fitted together in a precise pattern that will render the finished barrel watertight.
