Oakwood Hills president Paul Smith resigned earlier this month.
His resignation letter, dated
Oct. 5, did not state a reason for his decision.
However, Smith wrote in the letter that “I greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve you.”
Village Clerk Cheryl LoSasso said Chad Rider, a trustee who also serves as president pro-tem, will be voted in as acting president at the next Oakwood Hills Village Board meeting on Nov. 14.
Rider will continue as acting president until the next election in April 2020, LoSasso said.
She said that as acting president, Rider could choose to retain his trustee seat, allowing him to cast a trustee vote. Or he could resign from his trustee position, creating a trustee vacancy that would have to be filled.
It was not immediately clear on Tuesday what Rider would choose to do. Rider could not be reached for comment.
Smith became acting president of Oakwood Hills in 2014, after the resignation of former Oakwood Hills President Melanie Funk. He then was elected as president in April 2017 for a four-year term, LoSasso said.
Attempts to reach Smith for comment were unsuccessful.
