A 28-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly took his shirt off and tried to fight with officers after they used a Taser on him, police said.
About 3 p.m. Sunday, officers went to the Super 8 motel at 3401 Mall Loop Drive after receiving a report of a man who refused to leave the property, Joliet police Sgt. Christopher Botzum said.
When officers arrived, they encountered Terry D. Dominick, of the 6100 block of North Northwest Highway in Chicago, Botzum said. The hotel staff told officers Dominick was not wanted at the property because he was intoxicated and kept passing out while he was there, he said.
Dominick departed after he was told to leave, but the officers had to return to the hotel because he was there again, Botzum said.
The officers met with Dominick, who took his shirt off and clenched his fist as if he wanted to fight, Botzum said. Dominick continued to approach the officers after they told him several times not to, he said.
“They warned him not approach them. He didn’t heed that warning,” Botzum said.
One officer used a Taser on Dominick but it did not subdue him, Botzum said.
Dominick struggled with officers and he was arrested, he said.
Botzum said no one was injured during the incident.
Dominick was booked into the Will County jail and his bond was set at $2,000.
He has been charged with resisting a police officer, criminal trespass to real property and assault.
