LaVerne Molln

LaVerne E. Molln, 57, of Walnut died Oct. 28, 2019.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday in Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, and from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at in First Lutheran Church, Ohio, Ill. The funeral will follow at 10 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Gene Vincent officiating. Burial will conclude at Van Orin Repose Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 5, 1962, in Princeton, the son of Myron R. and Lois (Rempfer) Molln. He married the former Linda Kramer on Sept.1, 1990, in Ohio.

He was a graduate of Ohio High School and Wyoming Technical Institute. LaVerne farmed in the Walnut and Ohio areas. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ohio and had served as a trustee several terms. He was a member of the board of directors of First State Bank of Van Orin.

LaVerne took after his dad, Myron, farming and making sure whether planting or harvesting- everything was done the best it could be. He loved all his family and going on vacations to Wisconsin with his children and grandchildren. Riding his Harley with his wife Linda or friends around the area was his new-found joy, and oh how he enjoyed special times in their new Arizona winter home with new-found neighbors and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; his mother Lois Molln; his daughters, Dena Doran (Eric May) of Princeton and Chelsey (Jodie) Whipple of Wyanet; his sons: Derek Molln (Deanna Lyman) of Princeton and Andrew Molln of Sheffield; son-in-law Dave Doran of Ohio; his sister, Janice (Bob) Williams of Van Orin; his brothers, David Molln (Ann Cobane) of Ohio and Kevin (Missy) Molln of Toulon; grandchildren, Nolan Doran, Madison Doran, Kyle Molln, Kylei Molln, Myah Whipple, Madelyn Whipple, Sawyer and Summer Lyman.

He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother, Gary.

Memorials in his memory to the First Lutheran Church in Ohio and to the Ohio Fire Department.
