Janice Seidel

Janice Kay Seidel, 70, of Rock Falls died Oct. 30, 2019, in Rock River Hospice and Home, Sterling.

Visitation will be 9-10:15 a.m. Saturday in McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling, with the Rev. James R. Keenan, celebrant, officiating.

Janice was born Jan. 19, 1949, in La Salle, the daughter of Sam and Catherine (Pricco) Pagoria. She graduated from Hall High School in Spring Valley in 1967 and then graduated from Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby in 1969. Jan married Michael R. Seidel on May 23, 1970, in Spring Valley.

She worked for Montmorency School in Rock Falls for 34 years, retiring in 2014. Jan was a charter member of the Rock Falls/ Sterling Community Service Club since April of 1972. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband; her two daughters, Gina Kay Lanning of Warsaw, Ill., and Jennifer Rae Burns of Rock Falls; five grandchildren, Aaron Michael Lanning, Garrett Wayne Lanning, Peyton Grace Burns, Mayson Rose Burns and Max Brayden Burns; one brother, Samuel (Cheryl) Pagoria of Spring Valley; and her beloved dog, Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
