Adrian “AJ” Revell

Adrian “AJ” Revell, 77, of Ottawa passed away Nov. 1, 2019, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Ottawa Funeral Home.

AJ was born April 24, 1942, in Ottawa to Godfrey and Frances (Hol-tom) Revell. He married Phyllis Wilk-inson on Jan. 13, 1961, in St. Patrick’s Church, Ottawa. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree. Adrian was owner and operator of AJ Appliance for over 40 years. He was a member of the Civil War Roundtable in Ottawa. He loved all aspects of the Civil War and had visited many battlefields. He sponsored a women’s softball team in Ottawa for 20 years. He loved watching the Chicago Bandits and enjoyed taking his grandchildren to their games. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He started marching in drum corps in high school and carried that passion into being an instructor and a judge. He was an instructor for many years for the Golden Lancers Color Guard and several others in the Chicago area. He was also an active member of the mural committee and painted on many murals in Ottawa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis; three children, Charley (Pam) Revell, Mark (Steve) Bruns-Revell and Angela (Logsdon) Revell; three grandchildren, Heather Wire, Nathan Revell, and Jennafer (Ryan) Schuh; two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Scarlett Schuh; and one sister, Rebecca Kohan; and his longtime sidekick and business partner, Stan Johnson

Adrian was preceded in death by his siblings, Colleen Brown, Audrey Sarti, Gloria Hougas and Pat Revell; and his son-in-law, Wes Logsdon.
