STERLING – Steven K. Bushman, 66, of Sterling, died Friday November 15, 2019, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford suddenly.
He was born on March 20, 1953 in Sterling, the son of Arman E. and Lenora J. (Queckboerner) Bushman, and was a graduate of MIT in Morrison. He married Linda J. Weed on May 23, 1979 in Rock Falls. Steven had worked as a truck driver for the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Co and when they closed he drove for Rock River Ready Mix and owned and operated Trees R Us tree transplanting. Later he was the co-owner/operator of Northern Illinois Transit Co as well as being co-owner of Quilt Supplies For U. In his younger years Steven liked to race jeeps, hunt and trap shoot. He was an avid model railroader and a member of the Stephenson Co Antique Engine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; their son Jeffrey Bushman of Sterling; their daughter Jennifer Bushman of Schaumburg, IL; his brothers: John (Cathy) Bushman of Odessa, FL, Frank (Michele) Bushman of Louden, TN, Doug (Lisa) Bushman of Rockford and Don (Kristy) Bushman of Wilmington, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 19, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
