PRINCETON — Diana Lynn McCullough, 57, of Princeton passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at Aperion Care in Princeton.
Diana was born on Nov. 25, 1961, in Princeton to the late Elmer and Julia (Henkins) McCullough. She was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1979. She attended a year at the Patricia Stevens Career College.
She worked as a waitress at Beabers throughout high school and Happy Joes. She also worked for Jim Seeforth Photography, where she would assist with pictures as well as makeup. She worked at the Big Apple before working for 14 years as a certified nursing assistant at Orchard View, retiring due to their closure.
Diana loved music, and she loved to dance. She took gymnastics and Jazz, she was more of a dancer than a gymnast, even teaching her younger siblings to dance. She was into high fashion and theater as well as makeup. She would apply the makeup techniques she learned via Cosmo, Vogue and other fashion magazines on her younger sisters. She loved flowers. In her eyes, they all had beauty. She was an avid reader and could often be seen with a book in her hand or riding her bike to the Princeton library.
She was one of the sweetest, kindest, most generous people you would ever meet. She had a lot of responsibility at a young age, being the second oldest daughter of 10 children. She could always be counted on by her younger siblings. Diana would do so much for her younger siblings, from purchasing gifts to making sure that everyone got a little extra something at Christmas and never missed a birthday. She always made sure that the shared house chores were done, including laundry, cooking, cleaning and homework. As hard as times were, she didn’t complain and always had a smile and was a genuine and kind person, always willing to help out. She never met a stranger and she will be greatly missed by anyone who met her.
Diana is survived by eight siblings, Susan (Bob) McCauley of Geneva, Bill (Shelia) McCullough of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Denise (Dennis) Morris and Mary McCullough, both of Princeton, Beverly (Mark Havel) Judge of Rolling Meadows, Ryan (Michele) McCullough of Madison, S.D., M.
