21-year-old Barrington man dies in Oakwood Hills crash

A 21-year-old Barrington man died in a Thanksgiving night crash, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff's deputies, Oakwood Hills police officers and paramedics from the Cary Fire Protection District were called about
10:20 p.m. Thursday to Rawson Bridge Road between Del Miller Lane and Brittany Drive for a report of a crash, McHenry County Sheriff's Deputy Sandra Rogers said Friday.

The driver of an SUV was traveling east on Rawson Bridge Road when the vehicle went off the road to the north for unknown reasons and struck a tree, Rogers said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, she said. No further information was provided about the driver, whose identity has not been released.

Messages were left Friday with the McHenry County Coroner’s Office, but staff could not be reached for comment.

The crash is being investigated.
