Roundup: Yorkville Christian wins Lisle tournament championship

The Mustangs beat Evergreen Park 97-78 to win the Lisle Tournament championship. Jaden Schutt, who averaged 29 points per game, and Micah Schnyders, who averaged 25, were both named to the All-Tournament Team.

Yorkville

Cole Yearsley scored 12 points, and all 11 Foxes scored in a 60-25 win over Sandwich in the final game of pool play at the Strombom Tournament in Sycamore. Zak Konecny added nine points and Ryan Shimp seven for Yorkville (2-1), who allowed single digits in three of four quarters. Yorkville will play Dundee-Crown at 6 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game.

Newark

Nate Christian scored 18 points, Austin Tollefson had 13, and Alex Tollefson and Jared Slivka had 10 each for the Norsemen in a 67-55 loss to Hall at the Seneca Thanksgiving Tournament. Jacob Chapman grabbed 10 rebounds and Alex Tollefson had five assists.
