OREGON – Scott Powell, 57, of Oregon, died suddenly Wednesday, November 27, 2019, in his home.
Born September 5, 1962, in Dixon, the son of Robert and Phyllis (Painter) Powell. Married to Kristi Long March 20 1992 in Oregon. Scott was a 1980 graduate of Dixon High School. He was employed the past 8 years at Jones Natural Chews in Rockford, and prior to that for 12 years at Spectrum Preferred Meats. Scott was a loving family man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in his yard and with his grandkids and was a Green Bay Packer fan.
Survived by his wife, Kristi Powell of Oregon; parents, Robert and Phyllis Powell of Dixon; daughters, Kelsey (Matthew) Manning of Dalzell and Kayla Powell of Oregon; grandchildren, Maci and Jexton Manning; brother, Robert Neil (Kathy) Powell of Dixon; and mother-in-law, Joyce Long of Oregon.
Predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and father-in-law, Skeet Long.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5, in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon with Pastor Michael Hoffman, Oregon Church of God, officiating. Burial in Pine Creek Brethren Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
