Lee E. Howell

AMBOY – Lee E. Howell, age 74, of Amboy, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, surrounded by his family at the home of his son.

He was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Amboy the son of Charles and Pauline (Williams) Howell. Lee had worked at Amboy Sterilpak, Deans Foods and Kreider Services both in Dixon. He was a veteran of the Army and was a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Lee loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed horse racing and casinos.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Eli Christoffersen; brothers Charles Howell Jr, Mark Howell Sr. Mike Howell; and sister, Effie Lambert.

Lee is survived by his children Paul (Tina) Howell and Jolinda (Luke) Christoffersen both of Amboy; stepdaughters, Missy (Jim) Gallentine of Sterling and Tammy (Travis) Coil of Dixon; grandchildren, Trevor (Sara) Howell, Reece (Brandice) Howell, Walker (Haleigh) Howell, Abigail, Callan, and Gunner Christoffersen, Chase and Chelsea Glenn, Chloe Coil and Larissa Gallardo; 1 great-granddaughter, Lyla Mae Howell. He is also survived by one sister Isabelle Ptak of Amboy.

Lee asked that his body be donated to medical study. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday Dec. 11, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.

A memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice.
