Sidetrack’d Bar and Grill, 1 S. Main St., Sandwich, collected lots of non-perishable groceries for the Franklin Mall Christmas Project at it’s Grand Opening held last week. Shown putting non-perishables in the collection box are, from left, Logan Hanacek held by Brittany Hanacek, and Karissa Janada. The groceries, as well as contributions of $260 given, will help provide food for nearly 200 deserving families and individuals who live in Sandwich School District 430. The groceries boxes will be packed at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Sandwich Fire Station, then delivered at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, by volunteers. The Sandwich Lions Club has been directing the project since the 1970s. Those wishing more information or have names and addresses of possible grocery box recipients can call Karen Spangler, Grocery Box Chairperson, at 815 786-2189. (Photo provided)
