Richard and Carol Haas will celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Haas of Ohio, Ill., will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

Richard Haas and the former Carol Barkman were married Dec. 26, 1959, in the Van Orin Gospel Church by the Rev. Avian Habeggar (deceased). They are the parents of four daughters, Gwen (Ken) Luck of LaMoille, Amanda Haas of Elk Grove Village, Gloria (Chad) May of Princeton and Andrea (Rodney) Richards of Morton. They have six grandchildren, Garrett (Lauren Rzasa) Luck, Jenna Luck, Hallie (Matt) Monroe, McCaela May, and Abigail and Riley Richards. They also are blessed with five great-grandchildren, HuntLee, BrinLeigh, BrookLeigh, BexLeigh Luck, and Harper Monroe.

Richard farmed for more than 40 years and drove a motorcoach for 33 years. He retired from Cheeseman Coaches Inc. in 2016. Carol was a school bus driver for the LaMoille District for 23 years, and retired as an aide after 11 years for the district.
