ASHTON – An Ashton man faces multiple felony cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana charges after his arrest Monday
Dixon Police Sgt. Matthew Coppotelli said Dixon police and Lee County Sheriff’s Office Joint Operations Group members carried out a search warrant Monday in the 800 block of South First Street.
Juan C. Urena, 21, was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine – 15 to 100 grams, a Class X felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison and up to a $25,000 fine; unlawful possession of methamphetamine – 15 to 100 grams, a Class 1 felony punishable by up to 15 years and up to $25,000; three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance – 1 to 15 grams of cocaine, Class 1 felonies; three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance – less than 15 grams of cocaine, a Class 4 felony punishable by up to 3 years in prison and up to $25,000; unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver – 100 to 500 grams, a Class 3 felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $25,000 fine; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a Class 4 felony.
He was taken to Lee County Jail. No bond information was available Monday night.
During the search, officers found 47 grams of methamphetamine, 459 grams of marijuana, and various pieces of equipment used during packaging and distribution of illegal narcotics.
Urena pleaded guilty in June 2017 in Ogle County court to violating an order of protection, and was placed on court supervision.
