Holiday light shows dazzles in Mt. Morris

Jerry Stauffer never had the room for the light show that he always wanted. Once he moved four years ago, he pulled out all the stops.

"I've been an electrician all my life,” Stauffer said. “I've always liked lights. I always wanted to do a large musical light show. It's the first property I've had that has allowed me to do a large animated musical light show."

Stauffer's display, Lights On First, at 214 W. First St. in Mt. Morris features around 75,000 lights and various decorations.

He works year round to prepare for the holiday season. He added around 25,000 lights to his display for this year and hopes to pass the threshold of 100,000 lights in the future.

Music will play over speakers the night of the show as well as on 104.1 FM radio for the rest of the holiday season until it ends on Jan. 3, 2020.
