The Morris Township building on west Washington Street in downtown Morris has a new name.
The Morris Township Board recently unanimously approved naming the township building in honor of long-time supervisor Keith D. Larson.
Larson passed away on Nov. 6, 2018.
Morris Township encompasses an area of Morris between Bedford Road and the Illinois River, with the southern border just south of Deerpath Drive and northern border east of Cemetery Road and west of Heidecke Lake. Morris Township services more than 7,100 residents.
A plaque honoring Larson was presented at a recent meeting of the board of trustees to board members, including Larson’s granddaughter Trustee Erica Nelson.
