Ex-con stuck up Frankfort T-Mobile store: cops

Two men have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a T-Mobile store in Frankfort, police said.

On Saturday, Kwamaine D. Tarver, 24, of the 6000 block of Lake Bluff Drive in Tinley Park was taken into custody on charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon by felon, according to jail records.

Tarver has been on parole since March 21. He was sentenced to
18 months in prison for possession of a controlled substance.

Frankfort Deputy Police Chief Kevin Keegan said charges were still pending against the other suspect in the robbery.

About 1:40 p.m. Friday, two men armed with handguns walked into T-Mobile store at 20245 South La Grange Road, Keegan said, and Frankfort police responded to the incident and pursued the men as they fled
in a vehicle.

The men were chased into Harvey, about 15 miles from the store, and then were apprehended with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies, Keegan said.

He said police recovered a pistol and several pieces of merchandise taken during the robbery.

Keegan said the investigation still is ongoing and anyone with information related to the incident is asked
to call Frankfort police at 815-469-9435.

Tarver is being held at the Will County jail on a $100,000 bond and will need to post $10,000 for his release.

He was scheduled to appear for a hearing on his bond at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Will County Courthouse.
