Charles “Chuck” Andrew Albert, 55 years old, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of La Salle, died Dec. 18, 2019, in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria after a sudden illness.
A celebration of life will be held in January with arrangements to follow.
Charles “Chuck” was born July 23, 1964, in Peoria to Donald and Anita (Joop) Albert. He graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1982.
Chuck learned the auto-mechanic business from his father and uncle, working with them at Albert & Son’s Shell Service Station on Third Street in La Salle. Chuck’s passion was motorcycles and he was known for his superior detailed custom work rebuilding and restoring cycles. He opened Albert & Son Chuck’s Cycle shop in La Salle and then later Chuck’s Garage in Sarasota, Fla., after moving there.
Chuck will always be remembered for his quick wit, his love for his children and his generosity to those around him.
Survivors are his mother, Anita Albert of Wauchula, Fla.; children, Courtney Albert of Sarasota, Fla., Charlie Albert of Spring Valley, Kacey Becker of Oak Park; siblings, Greta Ehr (Ed) of Pooler, Ga., Gail Fraser (George) of Fayetteville, N.C.; and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and many friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kenneth Albert; grandparents, Verna Margaret Albert (Jefferson) and Charles B. Albert, Sr.; uncle Charles B. Albert Jr. (Colonel) and aunt Antoinette “Tonette” Albert and aunt Joan Albert.
Cremation is being handled by Mason-White Funeral Home in Peoria. Service arrangements will be forthcoming by the family.
