La Salle fire department says no fire at Buckman, only smoke

La Salle’s Fire Department said there was no fire at Buckman Iron and Metal Co. on Canal Street in La Salle.

There was smoke though, which was caused by an issue with a hydraulic oil tank, the department said.

La Salle, Peru, Utica and Oglesby firefighters responded to the smoke at Buckman Iron and Metal Company on Canal Street in La Salle shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday.
