Steve M. Gunderson

STERLING – Steve M. Gunderson, age 73, of Sterling, died Friday, December 20, 2019, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Steve was born July 14, 1946, in Slayton, Minn., the son of Clifford and Evelyn (Comnick) Gunderson. He married Dianne Crofton on June 16, 1968, in Milledgeville. Steve was employed as a salesman for SBM for 17 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Gunderson of Sterling; his three children, Dawn (Steve) Marruffo of Sterling, Erica (Steve) Stoudt of Rock Falls and Mark (Nicole) Gunderson of Sterling; one sister, Margo Reuter of Normal; one brother, L’Dean (Terry) Gunderson of Spring Valley, Calif.; and seven grandchildren, Dylan and Brandon Pillars; Paul, Emily, Olivia and Jacob Marruffo; and Breanna Gunderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 10 to 11 a.m. at New Life Lutheran Church in Sterling. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Ben Anderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to New Life Lutheran Church.
