ROCK FALLS – Craig A. Kilberg, 61, of Rock Falls, died Friday December 27, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family following a brief, but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on November 11, 1958, in Sterling, the son of Donald Gene and Shirley Tene (Skrogstad) Kilberg. He was a 1977 graduate of Sterling High School and married his best friend, Rebecca “Becky” Koeppen on April 7, 1984 in Sterling. He was a member of Bethel Reformed Church. Craig had been a lifelong truck driver and dedicated employee for several companies and farmers in and around the area, from Northwestern Steel and Wire to most recently Riverside Logistics.
Throughout his sons’ lives, he was their number one fan, following and supporting them in sports and every lifetime endeavor. Craig took great pride in his yard and was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. He was a great husband, father and friend whose humor, smile and wisdom will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Becky; his sons, Jake Kilberg and Cooper Kilberg; his father, Donald Kilberg; his sister, BethAnn (Ron) Kilberg-Walsh; his mother in-law, Jane Koeppen; sisters in-law and brothers in-law; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents; his father in-law, Lee and brother in-law. Rick Koeppen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow on Friday at 10 a.m. at Bethel Reformed Church in Sterling, 230 E. 23rd St., Sterling, with the Reverend Kenneth Zuitoff officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
