PLANO – Plano School District 88 officials are looking at applicants who were enlisted in the armed forces and would like to apply for an honorary high school diploma from Plano High School, according to a school district news release.
Eligible individuals must have resided within the Plano School District boundaries at the time they left grade or high school; couldn't attend or left high school before graduating to serve in the armed forces, or due to employment or family commitments during war time or another emergency; served in the U.S. armed forces during World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War; and have not received a high school or general education, or GED, diploma.
Diplomas also may be posthumously awarded upon application by next of kin, the news release said.
