Jacqueline Lee “Jackie” (Krueger) Leininger, 76, of Marseilles, passed away Jan. 6, 2020, in the comfort of her home, following her battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS).
Memorial visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday in Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Jackie was born Feb. 18, 1943, in Spring Valley to John and Doris Curran, Krueger Sr. In 1962, she married Jack Leininger of Varna. Jack and Jackie were married for 57 years.
Jackie graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School and Illinois Institute of Technology. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Fields Catholic Church and Marseilles American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed by Cargill until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Leininger; one daughter, Juli Leininger-Kent of Marseilles; one son, Jeff Leininger of Springfield; four grandchildren, Amanda, A.J., Gareth and Easton; one sister, Jill (Krueger) Strell of La Salle; and one brother, John (Debbie) Krueger Jr. of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Jackie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dick Strell.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to ALS Association, Ottawa YMCA or the Marseilles Nursing Service.
