SYCAMORE – DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott honored fellow deputy Sarah Frazier during the first DeKalb County Board meeting of 2020.
Scott spoke before the county board, county employees and numerous members of the public Wednesday inside DeKalb County's Legislative Center's Gathertorium, 200 N. Main St., Sycamore.
“She’s really a role model for the sheriff’s office,” Scott said. “She’s worked in every division of the sheriff’s office and in many sections including the jail, radio, control, detective and civil processing. She’s done the whole thing.”
Scott spoke of how Frazier served as the office’s Citizens Academy coordinator since 2007.
“She’s done that very well, so some of you may know her from that,” he said. “She’s a role model in everything she does. She has shown great courage on the street and in doing investigations as a regular patrol officer. She’s dedicated and hardworking. Whatever division she goes to, and I’m telling you the truth, she makes it dynamic.”
After speaking on Frazier’s abilities and her accomplishments as a deputy, Scott paused.
“One thing about Sarah – she always speaks her mind,” he said, drawing laughter. “We are so fortunate to have her. She is a leader within the sheriff’s office. She’s done everything except be sheriff. And I’m sure she could do that any time she wants.”
After the meeting, Scott continued to sing her praises. During the course of Frazier’s past 25 years of service with the Sheriff’s Office, she had been recognized with several decorations and awards.
“She has a great work ethic,” he said. “She sets the example of getting the job done and taking care of our county. Her best quality is her strength of character.”
