U.S. Rep. Bill Foster recently earned two major endorsements for his reelection.
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Illinois, endorsed Foster's reelection to represent the 11th Congressional District, according to a news release.
"I'm proud and honored to have the endorsement of Senator Durbin," Foster said in the release. "His leadership in the Senate and continuous effort on behalf of Illinoisans has been an example I've looked up to since I was first elected."
Durbin cited Foster's work on issues related to science in Congress.
"His leadership on issues relating to science and national security are vital qualities that are essential to have in Congress," Durbin said in the release.
Foster also earned the endorsement of the Illinois AFL-CIO for the 2020 primary race.
"I’m proud of the numerous endorsements I’ve gotten from local labor unions and especially grateful that the Illinois AFL-CIO has decided to endorsed my campaign," Foster said in a news release. “I will continue fighting for working families in our district and throughout our country.”
Will County Board member Rachel Ventura is challenging Foster for the Democratic nomination to his seat. The Illinois primary election is March 17.
