Roundup: Jocelyn Mitchell, Newark advance to LTC tournament championship game

Newark

Jocelyn Mitchell had 19 points and six steals as Newark advanced to the championship game of the Little Ten Conference tournament with a 63-32 win over Earlville. Meggie Scott added 10 points, 14 assists and six steals and Kellie Snyder grabbed seven rebounds for the Norsemen (18-6).

Yorkville

Lexi Meyer hit the game-winning basket with six seconds left, followed by a steal and two free throws to close out a 49-45 win over Plainfield East. Ellie Maaske led all scorers with 10 points, and Meyer and Lexi Sandon each scored nine for Yorkville (8-15, 4-7). Halle Jones and Kenzie Senffner each chipped in with seven points.

The Indians beat Dwight 42-19. Braulio Flores (132), Jackson Murphy (170), Sammy Dale (195) and Connor Holly (220) had pins for Sandwich (17-4).
