Harold W. Blanton

PROPHETSTOWN – Harold W. Blanton, 55, of rural Prophetstown, died Thursday, January 23, 2020, at his home.

He was born on February 13, 1964, in Sterling the son of Howard and LaVonne (Zentz) Blanton. Harold enjoyed working with his hands and had worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor. He liked to play his guitar.

Survivors include two daughters, Madison Blanton of rural Prophetstown (and her mother Melinda Newman) and his daughter, Shaye Blanton of Sterling; his brother, Dave (Donna) Blanton of Rock Falls; three grandchildren, Grace, Kaylee and Faith; and his faithful companion, Lollie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Nathan; and his sister, Marge Zigler.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 29, 2020, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will conclude at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.
