Graham Huffman

DIXON – Graham Huffman, 80, of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill. His father, Harold Huffman, opened Huffman Oil Company, also known as Huffy’s in 1939. After Harold’s retirement, Graham along with his brother Bruce; owned and operated Huffy’s Gas Station, Graham becoming sole owner after Bruce’s passing, until his retirement in 2000.

Graham was born, March 19, 1939, in Bloomington, Ill., the son of Harold W. and Lena M. (Wright) Huffman. He married Phyllis M. Fowler on May 24, 1963, in Morris Ill. Graham was a Lee County Board member from 1972-1992 and loved politics and serving politically. Graham’s passion was serving the community of Dixon through operating Huffman Oil Company. He enjoyed the sport of Nascar; but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Huffman of Dixon; three children, Hal (Mary) Huffman, William (Laura Meyer) Huffman both of Dixon, Amy (Ron) Kalebaugh of Eldena; one brother, Lyle (Marilyn) Huffman of Dixon; three grandchildren, Nicole (Ben) Warkins, Kristen Huffman, Jared Kalebaugh; four great-grandchildren, Carter Kibble, Beckett Warkins, Asher Warkins, Harolw Warkins; many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Eileen Glenn, one brother, Bruce S. Huffman.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, on, Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, Ill. A Celebration of life will be at noon Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Ltd., Dixon, Ill., with Rev. John Kalebaugh, officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Gideon Bible Society.
