STILLMAN VALLEY — Janet L. Turner, 79, longtime Stillman Valley resident, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, in Serenity Hospital Home in Oregon, Ill.
Born Aug. 7, 1940, in Princeton, the daughter of Carl and Pearl (Wade) May, she married Donald H. Turner Dec. 27, 1959, in Kasbeer. He died Sept. 24, 2015.
Janet was a 1958 graduate of Princeton High School. She worked with her husband in dairy farming and was also employed by Stillman Valley schools as a cafeteria worker and then at Cacciatore’s Food Mart in Byron for many years.
Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oregon, and enjoyed gardening and being with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Fordham of Ohio, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, in the First Baptist Church of Oregon with Pastor David Snow officiating. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, rural Oregon.
