James “Jimmy” F. Lucas, 71, of La Salle passed away peacefully in his home Feb. 7, 2020.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Hurst Funeral Home, La Salle, with the Very Rev. Paul Carlson, pastor of La Salle Catholic Parishes officiating. Burial will be private in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday in the funeral home.
Jimmy was born Aug. 26, 1948, in La Salle to James T. and Betty (Engelman) Lucas. He worked at Electrical Utilities Co.
Jimmy was kind, helpful, loved visiting all of the family and never had an enemy. Jimmy was deaf but you’d never know it. He was in the middle of all the parties, birthday celebrations and family events getting somebody a drink or cleaning up the Christmas wrapping paper or helping one of the grandchildren put together a present they had received. He loved wrestling (you know the real stuff on TV), fishing and projects. He loved life. We will all miss you.
Jimmy is survived by one sister, Linda (Lance) Laurence of Peru; one brother, Gary (Rhonda) Lucas of Princeton; four nephews, Jason (Lori) Tomlinson, Dustin (Jenny Grygiel) Brown, Dillon and Cody Lucas and 13 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael in infancy, and a niece Holly Tomlinson.
