NIU men's basketball preview: Huskies vs. Miami

Tip-off: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Miami's Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio

Records: NIU 15-0, 8-4 in Mid-American Conference; Miami, 9-15, 2-9

All-time series: Miami leads, 29-19. NIU won on Feb. 1 70-55

Who to watch: NIU's Darius Beane was held to just two points, two rebounds in 20 minutes of play in NIU's winning streak ending loss to Ball State Tuesday, his lowest scoring total since the first game of MAC play against Buffalo. The Huskies need Beane to keep up his production in what could well likely be a low-scoring road game against the RedHawks. Miami's Dae Dae Grant has been held to a total of eight points over his last two games after having scored in double digits his previous 10 games.

The lowdown: The RedHawks, losers of four consecutive games, have been held to 60 points or under in each game of the losing streak, and were held to 55 by NIU to begin that streak. NIU is coming off its first loss in its last seven games.

Key to the game: If NIU is able to hold Nike Sibande and Grant under a combined 30 points the Huskies will be in good shape, as Miami isn't equipped to put up a large point total otherwise.
