Men's college baseball: McHenry County College opens season with split in Tennessee

McHenry County College's baseball team pounded out 22 hits in an 18-0 win in five innings over Jackson State (Tennessee) in its season opener Friday in Jackson, Tennessee.

The Scots (1-1) lost their second game to Jackson State, 9-6, to split the doubleheader. Huntley graduate Hunter Rumachik went 4 for 4 with three doubles and three RBIs in Game 1, Kyle Bullock was 3 for 4 with a home run, double and two RBIs, and Kory Olsen (Crystal Lake South) and Bryce Toussaint each collected three hits and three RBIs.

Jackson Mandella threw four shutout innings with four strikeouts for the win. Olsen had a grand slam and five RBIs in Game 2. Cory Busse (Woodstock North) took the loss, giving up six runs in two innings.
