Adeline Boll

Adeline Morawski Boll, 94, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Feb. 10, 2020, in Port Charlotte.

She was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Hazleton, Pa., to Joseph Morawski and Cecylia (Gonsiorowski) Morawski. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years, Edward H. Boll. They were married on May 14, 1949 in Hazleton, Pa., in the Polish National Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Fellin (92) and her four children, John Boll (Cathy Ernat) of Aurora, Illinois, Susan Fabish of Davenport, Iowa, Robert Boll (Cindy Hoffert) of Wheaton and Katherine Boll of Hollywood, Fla. She has four grandchildren, Dr. Julia Boll (Daniel Bailey), Allison Boll and Alex Boll (Mackenzie Maeder) and Dr. Jennifer Sloboda (Michael); one great-grandson, Michael David Sloboda Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Grace Rose Sloboda.

Adeline graduated from University of Pennsylvania Nursing School in April 1945 and went to work at the osteopathic hospital in Philadelphia. She liked operating room duty, especially when she worked with Dr. C. Everett Koop, who later went on to be Surgeon General of the United States.

In 1947, Addie’s brothers Chet and Dick convinced Addie to move to Chicago. Lorraine Morawski, Dick’s wife convinced her to go to work at Evangelical hospital. Dick and Lorraine introduced Addie to Ed Boll and they were married one year later.

She spent many good years living in Elmhurst, raising her four children and attending many Cub Scouts, Brownies, Little League, high school sports, PTA and church events. She and Ed lived in Elmhurst from April 1957 through 1969.

In 1969, Ed and Addie moved to La Salle-Peru and she continued to actively support her children’s interests and pursuits. She was passionate about her bowling skills and she enjoyed competing in the local women’s bowling league for many years. Addie and Ed had the opportunity to travel extensively in Europe and Asia, which they enjoyed very much. They moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., in early 1982.
