SYCAMORE – Complaints about possible prostitution and zoning violations led to the arrest of a Hawaii woman by Sycamore police Thursday morning.
According to a news release from the Sycamore Police Department, Son Ok Kilgore, 57, of the 100 block of Chong Street, Hilo, Hawaii, was charged with prostitution after a months-long investigation.
"The initial investigation began when complaints were filed about possible prostitution activities and persons living within a commercial structure that was not zoned for residential use," according to the news release.
At about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sycamore police and Department of Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at 610 Plaza Drive #5. After police left, City of Sycamore Building and Engineering staff inspected the building.
"Numerous code violations were noted in the inspection and the business was closed until the violations are corrected and then re-inspected," the release states.
Four people faced charges after a prostitution sting at the same address in 2015.
