Five injured in two-vehicle crash in Marengo

A vehicle hit a Taco Bell sign Thursday afternoon in Marengo after it collided with another vehicle, leaving five injured, according to the Marengo Fire Protection District.

Three adults and two children were taken to local hospitals after two SUVS collided at 3:20 p.m. Thursday on East Grant Highway and Lindow Avenue.

A medical helicopter was requested but was declined because of the weather, according to the Marengo FPD. Harvard, Huntley and Woodstock fire departments also weredispatched to assist the crash.

Captain Patrick Fanning of the Marengo FPD said details on how the crash occurred are not clear.

The Marengo Police Department was not available to comment on the events of the crash. The patients’ current conditions are unknown.
