BERWYN – FitzGerald's Nightclub in Berwyn announced it is closed through April 2, but plans a livestreamed virtual concert as a benefit for musicians March 22. A lighthearted T-shirt also has been designed for FitzGerald's in the face of the pandemic.
During its break from public operations, FitzGerald's will find project-based hours and provide stipends to full-time employees who depend on FitzGerald's as their only source of income, a news release stated.
From 6 to 9:30 p.m. March 22, FitzGerald's Nightclub will present a livestreamed virtual concert in partnership with Shout Section Big Band and WDCB radio from the College of DuPage. The performance will stream online via www.facebook.com/shoutsection and www.shoutsection.com and will have a donate now clickable option alongside the stream.
"Proceeds will go to the band, much needed income for professional musicians at a time like this," the release stated.
Gift cards are available online at www.giftfly.com/shop/fitzgeralds-night-club in denominations from $50 to $2,000. They never expire and can be used for drinks at the bar, tickets and private event rentals.
T-shirts bearing the playful exclamation: "I stayed home from FitzGerald's Nightclub and all I got was this lousy T-shirt (c. 2020)" are available for $25 at fitzgeraldsmerchbooth.com.
