St. Michael church in Streator announces livestreams of Mass, curb side confession

Streator residents have had to adapt to getting food curbside from their favorite restaurant, now St. Michael the Archangel Parish is offering confession from the car.

Following the governor's orders to protect individuals from the spread of coronavirus, the church is looking to arrange a way for parishioners to go to confession in a way that follows social distancing protocols and allows it to occur outside.

The church currently plans to offer confession outdoors from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Saturdays. This will start Wednesday.

Those wishing to go to confession will pull up by the church's east door, stay in their car and roll down their windows.

The St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Streator also announced it will be live streaming Mass starting 7 a.m. Wednesday using Facebook Live.

There also will be another Mass at 10:30 a.m. The live stream will take place from the chapel within the Parish Hall rather than from inside the church, as their Wi-Fi does not reach the church.
