Third Eye Blind to perform at Rock the Lake portion of two-day music fest in McHenry

Third Eye Blind and Local H are set to perform at the RISE Up Foundation’s inaugural Rise Up Music Fest.

The two-day festival is set for June 19 and 20 at Petersen Park in McHenry. The first night is called Rock the Lake, and the second night, which will feature country musician Brantley Gilbert, is called Splash Into Country.

The festival is meant to raise funds for a new splash pad in McHenry.

Tickets can be bought at riseupfoundationmchenry.org. General admission tickets cost $25 for Friday's show. Only 4,500 tickets will be sold for the Rock the Lake night.

McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett said opener Local H, of Zion, was founded in 1990, and is known for energetic live shows. The band opened for Metallica in 2017, he said.

A third artist will be announced in April, Jett said.

On its Facebook page, the RISE Up Foundation said they have been "proactively dealing with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic."

"We want to assure everyone that if the coronavirus becomes a threat to Rise Up Music Fest, our commitment is to postpone and not outright cancel the weekend," RISE Up Committee members said. "We can’t thank you and our sponsors enough for the continued support, especially during these unwarranted times. In light of all these uncertainties, together we will all Rise Up."

Jett said he appreciates the support for Splash Into Country, which is nearly sold out.

"Let's keep it going," Jett said in a Facebook livestream. "We know that times are tough right now, [but] we will get back to normal. We'll get through this together."
