La Salle residents can stay up to date with information by signing up for Code Red phone calls.
On Saturday, April 11, La Salle residents who signed up for the alerts received a phone call.
Mayor Jeff Grove said the number comes in from an unfamiliar number, so some people might not pick up.
Even if people don't answer the call, a voicemail is left on phones.

Because this program is offered through the Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch it will say City of Peru, IL on the registration page, which is correct, La Salle's Facebook page said.
On Saturday's message, Grove told residents how to pay bills while the city hall lobby is closed (do so online, by mail or use the drop box in the alley behind city hall. Or call into city hall and pay by card).
There will be no late fees or water shutoffs for late payments.
He said extra information will be in this month's water bills, and mentioned the temporary garbage changes (neither large items nor yard waste will be picked up at homes).
The city will keep residents up to date on girls and boys softball and baseball and La Salle Park and Rec programs as information becomes available.
He also mentioned Saturday's Easter celebration at Rotary Park.
