Oswego East, Oswego High School graduation ceremonies rescheduled

Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2020 for Oswego East and Oswego High Schools have been rescheduled, according to an online post by Oswego School District 308.

Both ceremonies were originally scheduled for Saturday, May 16 in the Convocation Center at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

However, the ceremonies are now scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 27.

The ceremony for Oswego East High School graduates will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the Oswego High School ceremony at 3 p.m.

Both ceremonies will be held in the NIU Convocation Center.

In addition, prom has been rescheduled at both schools, according to the post.

The Oswego East High School prom is now scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 18 at Bolingbrook Country Club in Bolingbrook.

Oswego High School's prom is scheduled for Saturday, June 20 at Bobak's Signature events in Woodridge.

The continuing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic prompted school district officials to reschedule all of the events.

A statement on the post notes: "Events are subject to changes or cancellation based upon direction from health and/or government officials."
