Thomas and Patricia Hocking: 50 years of marriage

Thomas  and Patricia (Moriarity) Hocking of Jonesville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month. They were married in Peru on May 23, 1970 by Judge Clinch.

Diane Polizzi (the bride’s sister) and Ron Nadolny stood up for the couple.

Tom is the retired owner/operator of Illinois Valley Rug and Floor, a business he ran for over 25 years. Before that, Tom was employed by Illinois Cement Company for 18 years. He also served three terms in Vietnam from 1967-1968.

Pat is a retired hairdresser of over 50 years of service, 40 of them at DeAngelo’s in Peru.

Tom and Pat are the proud parents of Dennis (Laura Marzetta) Hocking of Peru, Tom (Tracy) Hocking of La Salle and Sally (Jim) Taliani of LaSalle.

They have two grandsons: T.J. and Will Hocking and four stepgrandsons: Josh Taliani, John Taliani, Keegan Samolinski and Trevor Samolinski. They also have a step great-granddaughter: Ivory Taliani.

They will have a celebratory dinner at a later date with their immediate family.
