LA GRANGE PARK - The La Grange Park Public Library is beginning a phase-by-phase opening of its physical services. The first phase of bringing back services includes the re-opening of the book drop on May 18 for La Grange Park Library materials only.
Contactless home delivery services are scheduled to begin on May 27.
Patrons may place La Grange Park Library books and other materials on hold now. A library card is required to take advantage of this service. To register for a card online, visit www.lplibrary.org/covid-19-updates/. As items become available, library staff will offer contactless home delivery for La Grange Park residents.
Since closing to the public March 14, the library has offered multiple ways to connect online. Virtual services include digital library cards, staff-monitored emails, a temporary phone line, virtual notary appointments, as well as an abundance of virtual story times and programming for all age levels.
For the safety of the staff and community, the library will remain closed to the public until further notice. La Grange Park Public Library’s actions are guided by available science and information from health and infectious disease experts, executive orders from the Office of Gov. JB Pritzker and the village of La Grange Park.
As new services are offered by the library, it will continue to communicate through its website, digital newsletter with free subscription sign up on their homepage, and on social media. The library also plans to utilize local news outlets to reach more patrons for these important announcements.
