No new grand juries will be impaneled in DeKalb and Kendall counties before June 1 due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic under a May 14 order by 23rd Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Robert Pilmer.
Pilmer issued the order pursuant to an Illinois Supreme Court ruling and states that it is intended "to protect the health and safety of the general public, as well the courthouse staff."
Pilmer consulted with the offices of the DeKalb and Kendall County State's Attorney's before issuing the order.
