McHenry County Republican Women’s Club awards scholarships to local graduates

Johnsburg's Madison Buchanan and Algonquin's Nina Petrouski were awarded $1,000 scholarships from the McHenry County Republican Women’s Club, the organization announced.

Buchanan was awarded the $1,000 Al Jourdan Memorial Scholarship. Buchanan graduated from Johnsburg and plans to major in elementary education at Wisconsin-Whitewater in the fall.

Petrouski was awarded he $1,000 Geri Davis Memorial Scholarship. Petrouski graduated from Crystal Lake South and plans to major in mathematical methods in the social sciences at Northwestern in the fall.

"The McHenry County Republican Women’s Club is delighted to recognize these exceptional two young ladies and is honored in assisting them in pursuing their education," the group said in a news release.
