Her mother, Lisa, is a nurse at Morris Hospital. She was raised a Navy brat, her father retiring as a master chief after 31 years of service. Huettemann’s father, Steve, is a Morris police sergeant who served in the Army and as military police in Desert Storm. He is a member of Voiture 1195, the American Legion and VFW and is the bugler for the Morris Color Guard.
La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux (The Society of 40 Men and 8 Horses) was organized in 1920 by WWI veterans who rode the small, narrow gauge French rail cars that could transport 40 men or eight horses to the front lines. These veterans remembered the care and kindness of the nurses serving there. The Nurse Scholarship is one of the society’s primary programs.
