An 18-year-old was back in the Will County jail after he was charged with firing a handgun in the parking lot of Century Park in Romeoville, according to police.

Willie Durham of Bolingbrook was released from jail April 23 after his bond was reduced from $500,000 to $250,000 and he posted 10% of the latter amount.

A warrant was then issued for his arrest on May 15 on a charge of aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Durham was identified by detectives as the man who fired a handgun March 30 while he was with a group of people who were arguing in the parking lot of Century Park, said Romeoville police Cmdr. Brant Hromadka.

The detectives were able to determine Durham was the shooter through video surveillance and witness testimony, Hromadka said.

Durham was taken to jail Tuesday on a warrant that carried a $750,000 bond. A judge ordered Durham’s bond to remain at that amount, according to court records.

Durham was first arrested April 3 after he was charged with taking cash from a man by "threatening the imminent use of force," according to a criminal complaint. He also stole a Glock from another man during the same incident, the complaint said.

Durham does not have a firearm owner's identification card, according to the complaint.

Hromadka said the robbery occurred in the parking lot of the strip mall that contains Jimano's Pizza at 365 S. Budler Road.

The two male victims and Durham were familiar with each other and Durham had brought a stolen firearm to the scene, Hromadka said.
